India is home to more than 100 national parks and 440 wildlife sanctuaries. Among these there are 28 tiger reserves which are governed by Project Tiger. Many of Indian national parks were initially wildlife sanctuaries. Thus in this country tourists can enjoy a great jungle tourism experience. Indian wildlife parks and reserves are renowned internationally for diverse flora and fauna. Here is brief information about some of famous wildlife parks and reserves of India.

Kaziranga National Park
It is located in Indian state of Assam. It is a declared UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is famous for hosing about two-thirds of the world's Great One-horned Rhinoceroses. It is also home to large breeding population of Royal Bengal Tigers, Indian Elephants, Wild Asiatic Water Buffalo and eastern Swamp Dear. Elephant Safari and Jeep Safari are organized here to explore the forest.

Jim Corbett National Park
Located in Indian state of Uttarakhand, Corbett is India’s first national park. It has diverse flora and fauna; including 50 species of mammals, 585 species of resident & migratory birds, 33 species of reptiles, 110 species of trees and 488 different species of flowering plants. Elephant Safari and Jeep Safari are organized here to explore the forest.

Ranthambore National Park
Ranthambore is located in Sawai Madhopur district of Rajasthan. It is one of the most popular wildlife sanctuaries and national parks in India for jungle tourism. It is home to variety of mammals, reptiles, birds, plants and trees. It is renowned for having good population of royal Bengal tigers. Majestic tigers can be easily spotted here evening during the day time. Hence it is also considered to be as one of the best places in India to see royal Bengal tigers & other wild animals at their natural habitats.

Bandhavgarh & Kanha National Parks
Bandhavgarh and Kanha are most popular national parks in central India in the state of Madhya Pradesh. Both are very popular among wildlife enthusiasts and provide them great experience of jungle tourism.

Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary
Periyar is one of the most popular tiger reserves, national parks and  It is located in the southern Indian state of Kerala. It has diverse flora and fauna but best known for Indian elephants. It also has good population of royal Bengal tigers. Boat ride on Periyar Lake is the most preferred way to see the attractions of jungle. Elephant safari is also organized here to explore the forest.
